Our Story: The Heart of Sara Rosa
Rooted in the rich cultural landscapes of Mexico, Sara Rosa is the realization of a shared vision between co-founders Jimena and Angélica.
Jimena’s journey began in Mexico City, where her grandmother instilled in her an early love for textiles and craftsmanship. This passion led her to study fashion design and later work in the fashion and film industries. There, she discovered how clothing, utilitarian pieces, and decorative objects act as powerful tools for storytelling—shaping identity and reflecting the memory and traditions of those who use them.
Angélica, born in Morelia Michoacán and raised in the historic leather-crafting city of León Guanajuato, was drawn to design from an early age. After earning her degree in Textile and Fashion Design, she moved to Mexico City, where she collaborated with luxury fashion houses. It was during her time working on high-end collections inspired by traditional Mexican indumentary that she witnessed the precision, beauty, and cultural value of handmade techniques, sparking a lifelong commitment to preserving these traditions.
Two Paths, One Vision
Angélica and Jimena’s paths crossed while interning at an atelier where couture craftsmanship and hand-finished details were at the heart of every piece. They instantly connected over a shared appreciation for slow, intentional creation and a deep respect for the ancestral techniques passed down through generations.
With Sara Rosa, they seek to honor the artistry and cultural heritage of Mexican craftsmanship by building meaningful, collaborative relationships with local artisans.
Our Philosophy
Sara Rosa serves as a bridge that brings the voices, stories, and hands behind each piece to the world. The project seeks to seamlessly connect the work of master artisans with people’s everyday lives. By giving value to each piece through its origin, its dedicated creation process, and the cultural story it represents, Sara Rosa creates objects of purpose. Whether it is a finely crafted clay piece occupying a special place within a home, or an item worn and cherished by the person who chooses it, every creation carries a piece of Mexico's soul.
